La sezione dell'UNICEF del Maharashtra desidera
ringraziare per il particolare contributo il Dr. Prashant Gangal, Dr. Sanjay
Prabhu e il gruppo del BPNI (Maharashtra) che sono gli autori di questo
video rivelatore del modo miracoloso con cui la natura avvia l'allattamento
al seno: il "Breast Crawl". Un ringraziamento particolare anche alla madre
ed al bambino di Nandurbar che ci hanno permesso di documentare questo miracolo.
Il Governo del Maharashtra in collaborazione con UNICEF e BPNI ha sviluppato
un ambizioso programma a livello statale di miglioramento dell'alimentazione
nella prima e seconda infanzia, che fa parte di una strategia critica di
prevenzione della malnutrizione infantile.
Il distretto di Nandurbar nel Maharashtra è uno dei distretti tribali più
arretrati ad elevata incidenza di malnutrizione infantile dovuta a
insufficienza di alimenti e cure. Questo distretto è stato scelto come
"pilota" per esaminare il programma di formazione sull' Alimentazione
Infantile e del Bambino (IYCF) prima di estenderlo all'intero stato.
Il miracolo del "Breast Crawl" è stato filmato per la prima volta in un
ospedale statale a Nandurbar come parte della formazione sul counseling
della IYCF. È seguita una risposta eccellente. Infatti ha motivato madri,
operatori sanitari, funzionari, volontari del territorio e responsabili
delle politiche sanitarie che a loro volta ci hanno spinto a creare un video
specifico sul "Breast Crawl", quale metodo per promuovere l'inizio precoce dell'allattamento al seno.
Mi congratulo con Dr. Prashant Gangal del BPNI che ha compiuto sforzi
instancabili per portare questo video e relativo dossier tecnico all'attenzione del mondo.
Approfitto anche di questa opportunità per ringraziare il contributo dei
